Software Development Meet Up!

February 3 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm GMT

eHealth Africa (eHA) is a technology-focused non-profit organization that is geared towards building and strengthening of health information systems in Africa. In Sierra Leone, eHA has a locally based software development team which in collaboration with Sensi innovation Tech Hub has decided to organize a software development meetup for wannabe software developers in Sierra Leoneans.
The purpose of the meetup is to create a platform where aspiring Sierra Leonean software developers can have an opportunity to be mentored and directly interact with eHA’s expert software developers and information systems professionals who have experienced and solved challenging software development problems. We believe that such interaction has the potential to rekindle and maintain a strong motivation in young Sierra Leoneans that will help them develop a professional software development career. The meetup is divided into two phases.

Phase one: will focus on familiarization to tools and introduction to professional front-end development skills (six months-two meetups + one Hackathon)

Phase Two: Introduction to backend tools and software development (six months-two meetups + one Hackathon)

Activities and Organization of Participants
Participants will be encouraged to work in groups, and each group will work on a project scenario that will allow them to reinforce skills learned through each phase. At the hackathon, each group will present the solution to their project and prizes will be given for best performing teams.
