Immutable partners with AWS to accelerate Web3 gaming

Immutable Pty. Ltd., an Australian Web3 gaming company, has announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services Inc. to develop initiatives aimed at accelerating the onboarding of game studios to Web3 and promoting digital ownership of in-game items. Web3-based gaming utilizes blockchain technology to enable players to own and trade in-game digital assets, and it is estimated that 100 million gamers worldwide will join the Web3 gaming community within the next two years.

As part of this partnership, Immutable is joining the AWS ISV Accelerate program, which connects organizations that provide software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS with the AWS Sales organization. Through this program, Immutable will gain access to expert resources from AWS to secure potential customers and close deals with major game studios globally.

Furthermore, Web3 gaming projects built on the Immutable platform will be able to enroll in AWS Activate, a startup program that assists companies in bringing their ideas to market. Participants in AWS Activate will receive AWS credits, technical support, training, and resources. They will also have the opportunity to tap into Immutable’s expertise in integrating, building, launching, and growing their own Web3 games. Up to $100,000 in AWS credits are available to scale AWS infrastructure for participants in the program.

Magmabyte, one of the Web3 gaming partners of Immutable, has already participated in the AWS Activate program. This collaboration will enable Immutable to provide a turnkey solution for game developers to quickly build and scale Web3 games.

John Kearney, the head of startups at Amazon Web Services Australia and New Zealand, expressed excitement about AWS supporting Immutable’s development by onboarding new game studios and providing resources through the AWS Activate startup program and the AWS ISV Accelerate program. These initiatives will empower game studios to accelerate their global launches.

Immutable, previously known as a platform for nonfungible tokens, has received venture capital backing, with its latest funding round raising $200 million on a $2.5 billion valuation in March 2022. Temasek Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Animoca Brands Corp. Ltd., and Tencent Holdings Ltd. are among the investors in the company.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Immutable and Amazon Web Services will play a significant role in advancing Web3 gaming by facilitating the onboarding of game studios and promoting digital ownership of in-game assets. With expert resources and support from AWS, the Web3 gaming community is set to expand rapidly, providing new opportunities for both developers and players in the gaming industry.
