The Black Blockchain Summit: Empowering Black Communities Through Technology
The Black Blockchain Summit, featured in Time Magazine, is a landmark event that brings together blockchain enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and innovators to discuss the challenges facing Black communities around the world. Now in its 6th year, the summit will be held on the historic campus of Howard University from 21 to 23 September 2023, with a lineup of more than 1,000 participants and 100 speakers. One of the highlights of the event will be a live performance by the iconic hip-hop duo, Dead Prez.
The Black Blockchain Summit is a three-day interactive conferencing event that will take place at Howard University in Washington D.C., USA. It aims to generate innovative and lasting solutions that disrupt the unsustainable position of Black communities within emergent technologies. By leveraging blockchain solutions, the summit seeks to bring lasting prosperity and independence to Black societies, as envisioned by freedom fighters and liberators in the “Arusha Declaration.”
The conference agenda is diverse, featuring speakers who will discuss blockchain technology solutions in the BARAZA format, an interactive debate style rooted in the Swahili language. The goal is to engage in meaningful discourse and explore how technology can mitigate the problems facing Black communities globally.
The Black Blockchain Summit believes that through the diligent use of technology, many of the challenges faced by Black societies can be overcome. By leveraging the power of blockchain, solutions can be developed to address issues such as financial inclusion, wealth disparity, and social justice.
