Apple Unveils New 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air Models with M3 Chipsets
In a recent announcement, Apple revealed updated versions of its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops featuring the latest M3 chip. The new models are available for purchase starting today and will start arriving on March 8.
There have been no external changes to the laptops, as Apple had already revamped the design of the 13-inch MacBook Air two years ago. The new models will maintain the same design with a boxier frame, a 13.6-inch display, upgraded webcam, and MagSafe port for charging.
The major upgrades are found inside the laptops, with the M3 chipsets built on a 3-nanometer process. This allows for more transistors to be packed into a smaller space, boosting both speed and power efficiency. The M3 chip also introduces new features like ray tracing, mesh shading, and dynamic caching.
The M3 chip is Apple’s latest entry-level processor, offering an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU. This makes it perfect for everyday tasks such as word processing, emails, and light gaming. Apple claims the CPU performance is up to 35 percent faster and GPU performance is up to 65 percent faster compared to the previous M1 chip. Additionally, both the CPU and GPU are 20 percent faster than the M2.
Overall, the new MacBook Air models with M3 chipsets promise improved performance and efficiency for users looking for a reliable and powerful laptop option.
