After initially disabling the characteristic final week, Apple has introduced again its new “Faucet to Provision” characteristic within the Apple Pockets app in iOS 18, simply two days earlier than the vast launch of the software program.
As noticed by code sleuth Aaron Perris on X, Apple has re-enabled the brand new “Faucet to Provision” characteristic for Apple Pay. It’s unclear why Apple initially disabled the characteristic, or what instantly modified that allowed them to carry it again.
“Faucet to Provision” is a characteristic in iOS 18’s Pockets app, which lets you add a brand new debit or bank card to Apple Pay by merely tapping your NFC-supported card to your iPhone. It’s the default methodology for including a brand new card to Apple Pay, permitting customers to skip the step of both taking a photograph of your card or typing within the numbers manually.
In fact, merely tapping your card isn’t all you could do so as to add a card to Apple Pay. Identical to different strategies of including a card to Apple Pay, you continue to have to obtain a code out of your financial institution through SMS (or full another verification methodology) to finish the method.
