PHOENIX — An East Valley college will quickly grow to be one of many few neighborhood faculties within the nation with a bachelor’s diploma program in synthetic intelligence.
Chandler-Gilbert Neighborhood Faculty will begin providing programs for a Bachelor of Science in synthetic intelligence (AI) and machine studying within the fall of 2025, with registration for the fully accredited four-year program starting in March.
CGCC, a part of the Maricopa Neighborhood Faculties District (MCCCD), would be the third neighborhood school within the nation to supply a bachelor’s diploma specializing in AI.
Synthetic intelligence isn’t new to Chandler-Gilbert CC
The East Valley college already has a observe document within the area. CGCC launched Arizona’s first AI affiliate diploma and certificates packages in partnership with Intel in 2020.
And earlier this 12 months, MCCCD joined the Nationwide Utilized Synthetic Intelligence Consortium, which is aimed toward advancing training and coaching within the area.
State regulation opened door to bachelor’s diploma at neighborhood faculties
In 2021, a state law was passed permitting neighborhood faculties so as to add four-year bachelor levels to their curriculum as an alternative of simply two-year affiliate levels.
The synthetic intelligence diploma will likely be CGCC’s first baccalaureate program.
