Amazon Web Services (AWS) has joined forces with Bellevue University to enhance access to cloud computing education and career opportunities.
As part of the collaboration, Bellevue University will implement the AWS Cloud Institute program, targeting diverse learners and corporate partners seeking to develop in-demand cloud skills.
Addressing cloud talent needs
“The availability of skilled cloud talent is one of the largest barriers to industry transformation,” said Kevin Kelly, Director of AWS Cloud Institute.
“Teaming up with Bellevue allows us to connect into a community of motivated learners who are eager to build opportunity for their lives and careers. It also opens up new dimensions of conversation with Bellevue’s engaged employer partners who use AWS services, allowing us to explore how they can address their cloud talent needs through reskilling and internal mobility programs.”
The AWS Cloud Institute program offers nine core courses, more than 150 practical labs, and a capstone project. Participants will prepare for two AWS certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Developer.
The program, which can be completed in nine months, combines technical training with hands-on experience to equip learners for roles such as cloud developer, cloud engineer, and DevOps engineer.
Graduates will also earn 45 college credit hours that can be applied toward cloud computing-related degrees at Bellevue University.
Supporting workforce development
AWS Cloud Institute is part of AWS’s broader aims to increase the availability of cloud-skilled talent. The program provides accessible pathways for individuals, regardless of their technical background, to enter the cloud computing industry.
Dr. Mary Hawkins, President of Bellevue University, commented:
“With a deep focus on employee growth planning, we’re uniquely qualified to help adult learners and the employers we partner with connect with specialized cloud computing education delivered by AWS. ‘It’s cloud on,’ and we’re ready to work together to drive careers and companies forward quickly.”
