Barcelona to Host Europe’s Largest Blockchain Event: European Blockchain Convention 9
Barcelona is set to become the center of attention for the blockchain industry as it prepares to host the largest blockchain event in Europe for the second half of 2023. From October 24th to 26th, the European Blockchain Convention 9 (EBC9) will take place, bringing together 5,000 delegates and 300 speakers, making it the biggest European blockchain event this year and the largest in the convention’s history since its inception in 2018.
This three-day crypto event will create a buzz in Barcelona, coinciding with the highly anticipated El Clásico clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid. As industry experts descend upon the city, Barcelona will be at the forefront of the latest developments in blockchain technology and digital assets.
The impressive lineup of speakers at EBC9 includes 300 founders, CEOs, and industry experts from prominent companies such as Nansen, Fidelity, Banco Santander, Coinbase, and Volkswagen, among many others. This wide range of participants demonstrates the growing interest and commitment from both traditional financial institutions and emerging high-tech companies in the future of cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
Co-founder of European Blockchain Convention, Victoria Gago, expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “We have seen an extraordinary increase in registrations and interest from exhibitors after the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous edition. Building on that momentum, we are moving EBC9 to Fira Barcelona, a much larger venue. As the largest convention center in Spain, it offers ample space for exhibitors and more engaging experiences.”
Daniel Salmeron, another co-founder, added, “We are extremely excited to bring together the worlds of TradFi, digital assets, and web3. The participation of so many traditional banks and financial institutions demonstrates their commitment and optimism about the future of crypto and digital assets.”
The European Blockchain Convention 9 program will cover a wide range of topics, including regulatory challenges, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), privacy, institutionalization of crypto, decentralized finance (DeFi), sustainability, tokenization, and artificial intelligence (AI).
In addition to panel discussions and workshops, EBC9 will also feature a 3,000 sqm exhibition area, AMA stage sessions with speakers, themed networking lounges, a 1-to-1 meeting area, an investor meetup, and an NFT art gallery. The event will also host a Start-up Battle, where the 50 most promising European blockchain start-ups will pitch their ideas to the audience.
Moreover, a Hackathon will be held as a side event, attracting over 200 hackers, 30 mentors, and 20 teams for a 48-hour challenge to develop innovative solutions using blockchain technology.
The European Blockchain Convention has grown to become the most influential blockchain event in Europe since its launch in 2018. It serves as a platform for industry professionals, startups, and technology leaders to share insights, foster collaborations, and explore the vast potential of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and digital assets.
