Marvel Comics and Funko have announced a new collaboration that merges physical and digital collecting. The partnership, facilitated by VeVe, will release a new digital/physical figure featuring Iron Man on October 18th. This collaboration is in celebration of Iron Man’s 60 years of rich comic book history.
VeVe, a digital collectibles platform, has been in the NFT business since 2021. The company announced its plans to be the first-ever carbon-neutral NFT platform. With concerns about the sustainability of NFTs, VeVe has committed to 100% carbon neutral NFTs and has offered grants to help causes. However, when they will reach carbon neutrality remains uncertain.
The collaboration with Funko and Marvel provides a physical counterpart to VeVe’s highly coveted digital collectibles. Funko, known for its collectibles, will release the first Funk Gold premium vinyl collectible featuring Iron Man. Only 3,000 pieces will be available, and each will cost $150. Every purchase will also include a matching digital collectible figure on the VeVe platform.

Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase individually stickered blind boxes, which include a code to redeem a free digital collectible NFT inspired by the physical collectible.
VeVe fans can download the app on the App Store, Google Play, or access it through the VeVe web app. The platform allows fans to buy and collect a variety of Marvel digital collectibles, trade and hunt for rare comic books, and display their collection in customizable virtual showrooms. VeVe also offers an augmented reality (AR) photo mode, enabling collectors to interact with their digital collectibles in 3D and share their collection through VeVe’s in-app social feed or on external social platforms.
