Dar Blockchain, a Tunisian Web3 company, has joined forces with the Hashgraph Association, a non-profit organization focused on promoting the adoption of the Hedera Network among the youth. This partnership aims to support projects, foster growth, and have a significant impact on the technology landscape in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
Mohamed Mnif and Jaafar Saied, the co-founders of Dar Blockchain, stated that the collaboration with the Hashgraph Association will lay the foundation for the realization of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) by providing training sessions on the Hedera Network and setting up chapters in local universities to connect students from different backgrounds.
The Hashgraph Association reaffirmed in a press release that the collaboration intends to promote the Hedera Network and support projects that contribute to the growth of the technology landscape in the MENA region.
This partnership follows the Hashgraph Association’s previous collaboration with Orange, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, to launch the AGV (Accelerator Grand Vitesse) High-Speed Accelerator Program in Morocco. The program aimed at fostering the development of innovative blockchain projects and startups in the region.
As part of this partnership, Dar Blockchain and Hashgraph will organize events such as meetups and hackathons, form university groups, and publish a monthly podcast. These initiatives are designed to promote the Hedera Network, which is known as the most innovative, sustainable, and enterprise-grade public ledger for the decentralized economy.
Starting in October 2023, Hashgraph and Dar Blockchain will hold four hackathons as part of their community-building activities. These hackathons will serve as a sourcing phase for an upcoming incubation program specifically tailored for the North African community. The incubation program will support and nurture promising projects that emerge from the hackathons. Additionally, the collaboration will offer bespoke training sessions to fuel the growth of communities and enterprises, showcasing the endless possibilities of Web3.
Kamal Youssefi, the President of the Hashgraph Association, expressed his belief that the partnership with Dar Blockchain will accelerate the mass adoption of DLT in the MENA region. He emphasized the association’s commitment to advancing the MENA Web3 industry in line with the region’s favorable outlook on cryptocurrencies.
The MENA region has recently emerged as a frontrunner for Web3 growth and innovation. In October 2022, it was announced that the region was home to the world’s fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets. In August 2023, the Dubai AI and Web 3.0 Campus committed to significantly reducing license fees for Web3 and AI firms, further encouraging companies and organizations to relocate to the city.
Dar Blockchain, founded in 2018, is a web 3.0 hub that supports the development of decentralized solutions and Web 3.0 initiatives across the Middle East and Africa region (MENA).
This partnership between Dar Blockchain and the Hashgraph Association highlights the collaborative efforts underway to leverage blockchain technology and promote innovation and growth in the MENA region. With the support of these organizations, the adoption of DLT and the advancement of Web3 in the region are expected to flourish.
