Paris Saint Germain (PSG) has partnered with Crypto(dot)com to release a new series of matchday NFT posters created using AI generative tools. This collaboration comes after PSG named Crypto(dot)com as their first official crypto platform sponsor in 2021, with a value of approximately $30 million over three years.
The AI-generated posters, created by artist Benjamin Benichou, will make their debut during PSG’s upcoming seven matches in the forthcoming season, starting with the game against Olympique de Marseille in France’s Ligue 1 soccer league on September 24.
Fabien Allegre, PSG’s Chief Brand Officer, expressed delight with this partnership, stating that the association with Benjamin Benichou has provided them with a deeper understanding of AI tools and has opened up creative possibilities.
Furthermore, PSG is offering fans the opportunity to win prints of the AI artwork, autographed jerseys from players, and VIP tickets to attend PSG’s final home match of the season.
These unique NFT posters, created using artificial intelligence, will only be available on the Crypto(dot)com NFT platform. They will be airdropped to select account holders on match days.
Collectors of all seven NFTs will have a chance to experience the grand finale at Parc de Princes. The first NFT poster will be airdropped on September 24, 2023, during the Marseille match.
This is not PSG’s first venture into the world of Web3. In 2020, the club entered into a licensing deal with the NFT fantasy sports game Sorare. Additionally, the club reportedly made payments related to signing Lionel Messi in 2021 through Socios crypto fan tokens.
Benjamin Benichou is highly optimistic about PSG’s collaboration with AI tools, as it opens up new possibilities for artistic and creative expression where art meets technology.
Each NFT in the collection features a vibrant image based on Paris, with the famous Eiffel Tower as a prominent landmark. Benjamin Benichou artistically designed these images and then redefined them using artificial intelligence.
A series of NFT posters developed with state-of-the-art AI technology will be released in line with the seven matches of the current season. Starting on September 24, fans can collect the remaining NFTs during games throughout the year.
Fans can obtain these new collectibles on the Crypto(dot)com platform on match days by logging in and making their claim. Random participants in the campaign will be rewarded with limited edition prints, VIP tickets, and signed shirts.
In conclusion, PSG’s collaboration with Crypto(dot)com for the release of AI-generated NFT posters demonstrates their commitment to exploring innovative technologies and engaging with their fans in new and exciting ways. This partnership represents the intersection of sports, art, and technology, creating a unique and immersive experience for PSG supporters.
