Key Takeaways
- PC gamers have many opportunities to acquire free games from digital storefronts.
- The Epic Games Store is technically giving away nine free games right now.
- Those on Steam and GOG have free games to claim right now as well.
Between Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, PC gamers technically have 11 free games they can add to their digital libraries. PC gamers are treated to free games on a near-constant basis. Publishers occasionally host free game giveaways as part of promotional events, while some digital storefronts give away free games to draw more users to their platforms.
For example, GOG gives away free games all the time, as does the Epic Games Store, which is the most predictable when it comes to free game giveaways. Every Thursday at 10:00am CT, PC gamers can boot up the Epic Games Store launcher and claim the latest freebies. Typically, these freebies consist of full-blown free games, but there are times when users are treated to content in free-to-play games instead.
