Google has announced the launch of the Pixel Watch 2, which will come with support for Wear OS 4 and several new watch faces. These new watch faces enhance the customization options and offer a variety of styles for users to choose from.
One of the new watch faces is called “Digital Bold.” It features a simple design that matches one of the new lockscreen styles found in Android 14 on Pixel phones. Users can choose from different color options and also have the option to enable up to three complications off to the side.
Another watch face called “Adventure” offers a more info-dense design. It shows the time with analog hands and includes readouts for the day of the week and the date. Additionally, it provides slots for four complications. Users can customize this watch face by adding a digital clock or “Arcs” that appear along the radius of the display, providing four additional complication slots to show more information.
“Analog Arcs” is another watch face that is similar to Adventure but focuses on arc complications. It allows users to choose between four arcs or two larger ones for complications. There is also a “minimal” design option with a simpler layout.
For those who prefer a highly glanceable watch face, Google offers “Large Scale.” This watch face has a big digital clock and a big singular complication. Users can choose to move the complication off to the side or remove it entirely. There are also several color options available. The default complication is the user’s heart rate, but it can be customized to display any other relevant information.
“Rotation” is a fun analog watch face that includes the date listed along the minute and hour hands. It has a second hand that shows the number of each point on the clock as it passes by. While it doesn’t support complications, users can adjust the indices and change the color.
These are just a few examples of the new watch faces that will be available on the Pixel Watch 2. It is expected that these options will also be available on the original Pixel Watch when Google launches its Wear OS 4 update in the coming months.
The Pixel Watch 2 is set to release on October 12, and pre-orders are currently open. With its support for Wear OS 4 and a range of new watch faces, the Pixel Watch 2 offers users a highly customizable and stylish smartwatch option.
