A House in China

China. 1938. Yot, a young boy of thirteen, watches as enemy planes bomb his nearby township. As war approaches, Yot and his brother cross the Pacific to join their father in America. Separated from their mother, the two boys exchange letters with her from the other side of the world. Then, one day, her letters stop coming. Thirty-five years later, Yot Lim takes his family back to his village to find out what became of her. They visit the small brick house where he was born… and there, on the wall, hangs a photograph of his mother that he’s never seen before — and it becomes everything to him. A House in China is the story of one man’s hopes, dreams and memories as he returns to the land of his past to search for the answers to all his questions.
