Based on the works analyzing in depth some revolutionary upheavals, the work develops a theoretical framework for analysis of revolutionary rhetoric. It suggests that Connecting “content of revolution” with the certain “forms” of rhetoric it is possible to see what type of speech a revolution is most likely to produce. Later, selected speeches are analyzed in order to evaluate the functioning of the framework first in the paradigmatic case of the French revolution and later in the events in Lithuania of the 1990-1992. Even though the latter are often not considered ?a revolution?, the work finds many instances of revolutionary that the theoretical framework envisioned, thus arguing for the possibility to call this period a “Lithuanian revolution.”
