The Quran, as it is known, is one, if not the only, scripture that strongly supports science. No less than 750 kauniyah verses that speak of science are nearly 5 times more than those of ahkam (about fikih). It is almost a logical consequence for muslims to pay attention to the verses of the kauniyah.

In fact, the tafsirs of the islamic world were dominated by linguistic, fiqh, and akhlak and tasawuf approaches, and very few recount the verses of the kauniyah with the scholarly approach (tafsir ilmi). Aware of this fact, Salman ITB ‘s team attempted to fill the rarity of ilmi’ s interpretation by publishing Salman ‘s commentary, specifically for Juz 30.

The Juz 30 was chosen because it contains the surahs most commonly read in daily prayers. After reading this interpretation, it is expected that readers will be more able to recite the greatness of the universe as they recite the surah. Compiled by multidiskiplinary scholars in science and technology and linguists and interpreters of the Quran, it is the first step for the Salman ITB team to write a series of thematic later ilmi interpretations (environmental, human, leadership, Science-Technology, etc.)
