About the Author

LaQuanda Fluckes is a 2013 high school graduate of Lincoln Park High School who’ll be attending Harold Washington College in the fall majoring in Journalism. Though she has many talents, writing is her passion. Not only does she write short stories, but she also writes poems. LaQuanda is also a motivational speaker and professional journalist with a special interest in motivating young women and youth. Currently she is a staff writer for the Building Bridges Consulting Dream Zine. She aspires to open a homeless shelter to continue her passion of helping others to realize they were born to be great.
