The Canplas PermOSeal Air Admittance Valve eliminates the hassle and expense of connecting drain fixtures to an external vent line. PermOseal AAV is smaller in overall footprint than other units, saving space and offering greater installation flexibility. PVC or ABS adapter accepts either 1-1/2” or 2” DWV Pipe. An Air Admittance Valve is a termination device that allows air to enter the drainage system (vent) only during a discharge. Otherwise it remains closed to prevent the release of foul odors into the living space. An AAV is used where it is not possible or is cost prohibitive to make a vent connection into an existing vent line or a penetration to atmosphere. Check with you local inspector as to the necessary approvals or by-laws for you particular location.
