Step One: Gather your tinder (dry grass, twigs, pine straw, cotton balls, or wax jute), kindling (such as small branches, bark, pine cones, etc..), and fuel (larger branches and logs) needed to start and maintain a fire. *If using wax jute provided: cut off about one inch of wax jute fire starter and roll between hands to fluff. Step Two: Use the serrated edge of striker to shave some magnesium onto wax jute/ tinder. Try to keep shavings close together in pile of tinder. Step Three: Use flat edge of striker to forcefully strike ferro rod landing sparks on tinder and magnesium shavings several times until pile ignites. Step Four: Gently blow on flame if needed and start adding kindling slowly and then larger fuel until you have a full-size fire. Step Five: Enjoy your fire Centaur Ridge is a leading provider of high-quality outdoor gear and survival equipment that is built to last.
