It’s an essential tool for those practicing homeopathy, the art of healing through herbal and natural remedies. Even use to pulverize harder-to-swallow pills. Simply place your item into the bowl-like mortar. Hold the pestle by the handle and, using firm pressure, make a circular stirring-like motion to grind the item into a paste or powder. Harder items, like peppercorns, may need the surface cracked before they can be ground; so, with firm but gentle pressure, tap the item with the pestle and then grind into the desired consistency.
