Erick Eddy wakes up in a fog of fear on a Psychiatric ward where he is suffering from amnesia caused by his brother, Milton Eddy, hitting him in the head with a hammer. The heart-pounding plot unfolds in horror and glory as one brother kills the other for the family inheritance. Erick’s past ends and his new life begins in a blazing fire that haunts him as he escapes death, but now he owes a debt of righteousness to God for his life. His first memory is of him as a four-year-old child with his brother in a dark stall in a barn and later his gay magazines and self-gratification. He buries some of his past deep into his subconscious mind and concentrates on his half-million-dollar gold mine he will inherit on his 21st birthday. He now lives with his Uncle Isaac Eddy in Chicago, Illinois, and he guards his nephew’s welfare with his street sense because he wants to get his hands on his inheritance of a half-million dollars coming to him in three years on his 21st birthday. An air of melancholy surrounds Erick while he discovers that he likes the queer lifestyle and his gay magazines. Still, as his memory returns, he is terrorized by his dark childhood and the letter his mother, China Eddy, writes about him and sends to the relatives. He has to prove his innocence or face prison in his brother’s death. Meantime, his conniving Uncle Isaac arranges for him a fast marriage to a call-girl named La Monica Johnson to beat the “no gay” disqualifying clause in the will. The battles over his inheritance begin between his slick Uncle Isaac and his phony call-girl wife. He is caught in deadly traps and vicious schemes by their fighting over his inheritance, as his mental capacity of an eight-year-old improves. He struggles to return to normal while falling head-over-heels in love with La Monica Johnson.
