In January 2009, IDW created a brand new continuity. This is the main series and simply titled G.I. Joe (with no subtitle), written by Chuck Dixon. Now considered Volume/Season 1 it ran for 28 issues + 1 Special and is called the IDW Continuity

A Voice (the Cobra leader) asks the Baroness for a test of the M.A.S.S. Device. Dr. Orizama and Glynis become official Cobras and chiefs of the M.A.S.S. Device & Section Zero. And Destro is sent to Section Ten which is run by Major Bludd.
