This is Jeff Degner’s second book, following
What Track for the Atlanta Flight? published in 2020. In
Runway to Recoveries, he again chronicles an amazing collection of stories, all based on his 45-year career as an O’Hare gate agent for Delta Air Lines. The first part of the book is composed of dozens of these entertaining and airline-related episodes: humorous, surprising, poignant, and endearing. The second part is a similar collection of unique stories, though these tales all involve Mr. Degner’s volunteer work for the non-profit charity, Healing the Children. They, too, include circumstances of laughter and surprise. However, the main characters in these endearing interactions are underprivileged children with medical needs. With the help of unassuming people from vastly different nations: doctors, nurses, escorts, biological parents and host families, their young lives are forever changed. You will find these stories to be remarkable, reflective, and refreshing.
