Starrett C404R-72 Heavy Spring Tempered Steel Rule With Inch Graduations, 4R Style Graduations, 72″ Length 1-1/2″ Width, 1/10″ Thicknes

The Starrett 72″, double-sided, inch-graduation, precision rule is made of durable spring-tempered steel and has a satin chrome finish that both reduces glare and resists rust and wear. The machine-etched, black 4R style graduations at 1/8″, 1/16″, 1/32″, and 1/64″ are easy to read and ensure accurate measures, and numbered subdivisions for 1/32″ and 1/64″ offer quick reading for increased productivity. The rule is 1-1/2″ wide and 1/10″ thick. A hole in the end of the rule enables hanging in a workspace or tool room. The rule meets Federal specification GGG-R-791H for accuracy.
Rules are devices used to measure distances, or to rule straight lines. Rules have markings at specified intervals (also called graduations), as opposed to straight edges, which lack graduations and are used solely to draw a straight line. Nearly all rules are straight edges, except for rounded rules used to measure circles and arcs of angles in geometry applications. Rules can vary from high-quality steel instruments used by machinists; to retractable rules (also called tape measures) used in carpentry and for home-use; to simple wooden or plastic rules used in primary and secondary schools.
