Review

For an aikido adept reigi is a set of rules prevailing inthe dojo and obligations imposed on the practitioners. The basic form ofadherence to the reigi is the dojo etiquette, which is created throughcarefully performed and with high concentration representational gestures andceremonies. The dojo is dominated by compliance with the principles ofpoliteness and refraining from anger and violence. The foundation of properbehaviour is compliance with the law on the superiority of politeness over thedesire to show one’s strength. Nobody has learned aikido by harming others. Thestudents should follow two main rules: first: if you want to be respected -respect others, the second: be strict with yourself and forgiving to others.Humility and modesty that are present throughout the dojo contribute tostrengthening the atmosphere of cordiality and kindness. Dojo symbolism and hierarchicalprinciples among deshi preclude the manifestation of pride. In aikido, comparing each other, showing off your skills or assessing others is anexpression of arrogance. Giving up comfort during training is purposeful, because it is necessary to build a strong character and respect for each of theexercising companions. Bartosz.

From the Author

The opportunity to write dictionary was primarily the 15thanniversary of my school, but not only. I wrote this in the hope that awarenessof the origin of aiki will continue to develop, and aikido students willcultivate memory and respect for O`Sensei and subsequent generations ofmasters. Aikido requires knowledge of the meaning of Japanese words. The bookis an addition to individual work on yourself. Organizing the basics of namingallows you to delve into the principles and traditions of budo. I hope thispublication will meet your expectations.
