ABOUT THE BOOK AND AUTHOR

The Call of the Wild was written by Jack London (1876–1916) and was first published in 1903. It is Jack London’s most well known work.

Set in the 1890s during the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon in northern Canada, along with some other locations, The Call of the Wild is a tale of survival of a dog named Buck and his transformation from a domesticated dog to one who lives in the wild.

Jack London was a prolific writer of novels, short stories, non-fiction, autobiographical memoirs, plays and more. Some of his most famous works include The Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Sea Wolf, The Iron Heel, Martin Eden and The People of the Abyss.

Large Print (16 point size) editions use the Garamond font. These editions have a glossy cover, cream paper interior, wide margins, generous white space and good spacing between lines of text. Both editions use the same layout style.

DYSLEXIC FRIENDLY FONT

The Cactus Classics
Dyslexic Friendly Font edition uses the OpenDyslexic3 font in a 13 point size. It is larger than the 13 point size in many other fonts. OpenDyslexic3 is not intended to cure dyslexia. Many people with dyslexia find this font is helpful but it does not help everyone. This edition has a glossy cover, cream paper interior, wide margins, generous white space, extra space between lines of text, left justified text with jagged right side, indented paragraphs and minimal use of all capital letters. Bold text is used instead of italics.
