About the Actor
Ben Kingsley – Kingsley was born Krishna Bhanji in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. Ben began to act in stage plays during the 1960s. He soon became a successful stage actor, and also began to have roles in films and TV. His birth name was Krishna Bhanji, but he changed his name to Ben Kingsley soon after gaining fame as a stage actor, fearing that a foreign name could hamper his acting career. Kingsley first earned international fame for his performance in Gandhi. His performance as Mahatma Gandhi earned him international fame, winning many awards, including an Oscar for Best Actor. He also won Golden Globe, BAFTA and London Film Critics Circle Awards. After acting in Gandhi, Ben was recognized as one of the finest British actors. Kingsley appeared in many other famous movies. In 1993, his performance as Itzhak Stern in the movie, Schindlers List earned him a BAFTA nomination. Schindlers List won 7 Oscars, including Best Picture. During the late 1990s, Kingsley acted in many successful movies. He played Sweeney Todd in the 1998 TV movie, The Tale of Sweeney Todd. For his performance in this movie, he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award. His other notable role was as Otto Frank in the TV movie Anne Frank: The Whole Story, for which he won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Debra Winger – Debra Lynn Winger (born May 16, 1955) is an American actress. She has been nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Actress: for An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Terms of Endearment (1983), and Shadowlands (1993). She won the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for Terms of Endearment, and the Tokyo International Film Festival Award for Best Actress for A Dangerous Woman (1993). Her other film roles include Urban Cowboy (1980), Legal Eagles (1986), Black Widow (1987), Betrayed (1988), Forget Paris (1995), and Rachel Getting Married (2008). In 2012, she made her Broadway debut in the original production of the David Mamet play The Anarchist.
About the Director
Chip Duncan is a filmmaker, author, photographer and President of The Duncan Group, Inc., a documentary production company formed in 1984. Duncan and his team recently completed the three-part public television series The Reagan Presidency (broadcast internationally in 2013). Interviews include Condoleezza Rice, Douglas Brinkley, Oscar Arias, Sandra Day OConnor, Walter Mondale, George Shultz, Paul Volcker, Henry Cisneros, Robert Reich, Reza Aslan, Richard Reeves, Trita Parsi and Andrew Young… among others.
