The Monkeys of Kapok

Join Saimiri, a young Squirrel Monkey, on an adventurous journey deep inside the Brazilian Rainforest in search of his lost family. On his journey Saimiri encounters the awe-inspiring world of the Monkeys of Kapok, an entire colony of monkeys living in harmony with other animals of the rainforest within a vast Kapok tree. Saimiri meets many new friends in his travels, including Mira, the daughter of the Kapok Monkey’s leader, Dax, a large, mouthy Tapir, Cappy, Dax’s nervous capybara friend, Onca, the majestic jaguar, and her best friend Dart, a wise-cracking dart frog. Get ready, the burn is coming!ABOUT THE AUTHORT.H. Wunder is an elementary school teacher of 23 years and currently teaches gifted children in Central Florida. He wrote,”The Monkeys of Kapok”, for his 5th grade students when they complained that the books written for their age group were much too sappy. He promised them an action-packed adventure with educational and moral value that also teaches them about the dwindling Rainforests and the animals within. His students have been very pleased with his creation and are eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, “The Journey to Rain Mountain”. T. H. has degrees in Biology, Elementary Education, and Criminal Justice. He grew up on the Jersey Shore and is a graduate of Kean University. He currently resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife, two children, and their dog.
