Samsung is a global leader in terms of display innovations. The company’s foldable phones are available internationally. Samsung isn’t stopping at foldable dominance and is reportedly exploring an innovative dual-folding phone that could launch in 2025.
ETNews reported that Samsung could launch a dual-folding phone in 2025. The company has reportedly started developing the new form factor product, with the design decision could be taken by the end of November.
Sources citing ETNews claimed that the South Korean tech giant has recently added a dual-folding foldable phone to its development lineup, and the partner companies have also started development tasks.
Recently, Huawei introduced the world’s first tri-fold smartphone. Practically, the phone can be folded and unfolded twice, double that of the Z Fold 6. The first unfold offers a tablet-sized screen while the second unfold offers a laptop-size screen.
In addition, the report says that Samsung’s dual-folding phone is designed to fold inward twice. The unfolded (maximum) screen size is said to be around 9 to 10 inches, which could be merely 2 inches larger than the Z Fold Special Edition.
Significant changes are expected in Samsung’s foldable lineup next year. With the addition of a dual-folding phone, Samsung’s Galaxy Z lineup could become more diverse. This year, Samsung launched the Z Fold SE for the first time with a slim design.
Samsung hinted at the emergence of a new foldable form factor in its third-quarter earnings announcement. A Samsung executive, said, “We are preparing new form factors for consumers who want a more powerful and innovative mobile experience, and we plan to introduce products to the market when we ensure satisfactory quality and experience in real-world customer usage.”
