South Korean gaming titan Wemade taps Chainlink for interoperable Web3 gaming ecosystem

South Korean gaming company Wemade has announced that it will be using Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to power its Unagi omnichain ecosystem. The Unagi initiative aims to create a unified gaming ecosystem by integrating and facilitating seamless interactions between different blockchains.

Currently, Unagi supports major blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain, Optimism, and Avalanche. By utilizing Chainlink’s CCIP, Wemade aims to enhance the security and functionality of the omnichain protocol.

Chainlink’s CCIP was chosen for its robust security measures and the Risk Management Network, which keeps a constant watch on potential illicit cross-chain activities. This collaboration with Chainlink will make Unagi a central component of the omnichain initiative, integrating both on-chain and off-chain functionalities.

In addition to this partnership, Wemade has also announced that Chainlink Labs has become the first official member of its Certified Organizations for Unagi Round Table (COURT). COURT is a consortium dedicated to the research, development, and innovation of the omnichain ecosystem. Chainlink will work with Wemade to develop cross-chain systems that connect multiple blockchains, enabling easy communication and secure asset transfers.

The CEO of Wemade, Henry Chang, expressed excitement about the partnership and the shared vision of both companies for the future of blockchain gaming. He emphasized the goal of accelerating the expansion of a connected, CCIP-powered Web3 gaming landscape.

Sergey Nazarov, the co-founder of Chainlink, also expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration and the potential for growth in Web3 gaming. He highlighted the seamless interoperability provided by Chainlink CCIP, which he believes will unlock a new era of cross-chain gameplay.

This partnership between Wemade and Chainlink brings together two industry leaders with the aim of creating a more connected and interoperable Web3 gaming ecosystem. Their collaboration will help drive the adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming industry and enable players to experience a new level of cross-chain gameplay.
