Survey Says: Motorola Edge 50 Shines, Price Tag Doesn’t!

According to a recent poll, Motorola’s Edge 50 series seems to have missed the mark in terms of pricing. Despite this, strong review scores and potential discounts could drive popularity for these models, including the Pro and Ultra variants which have already been critiqued.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, priced at €1,000, elicited strong feedback for its cost, with nearly half of the poll’s participants indicating it’s too expensive. The use of the Snapdragon 8s chip, instead of the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, was a noted detractor. Commenters highlighted that other devices at this price range offer better performance.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, though still challenged by its price, hit closer to a value sweet spot among respondents. However, its Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip’s performance was criticized for not matching up with competitors in its price bracket.

At €400, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion stirred less debate over its price, yet its specifications failed to impress many, garnering limited interest. Its success might hinge on positive future reviews, though expectations remain moderate.

The conversation around the Edge 50 series revolves around initial pricing strategies. Historically, Motorola and various retailers have discounted the Edge series not long after launch, suggesting potential future price drops for the Edge 50 lineup.

Particular attention is drawn to the Pro model, presently €300 cheaper than the Ultra version. With the Edge 40 Pros dwindling in stock, largely due to the desirable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the Edge 50 Pro could emerge as a more appealing option to consumers looking for value and performance.
