Apple’s WWDC 2024 Makes a Grand Return on June 10!

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple today unveiled plans to host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) virtually from June 10 through 14, 2024, with a special kick-off event at Apple Park on the first day. This unique blend of online and in-person experiences underscores Apple’s commitment to engaging with its developer community amidst the ongoing global situation.

Free of charge for all developers, WWDC24 aims to showcase the latest advancements across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and the newly introduced visionOS. The conference is designed to equip developers with the latest tools, frameworks, and features, enhancing their ability to create cutting-edge apps and games. According to Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, this year’s WWDC is “all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.”

A highlight of WWDC24 will be the opportunity for developers and students to engage directly with Apple experts. Through a series of video sessions, participants can gain deep insights into the latest Apple software and technologies, exploring new possibilities for their projects. The entire conference will be accessible through the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel, ensuring a comprehensive online experience for the global developer community.

In addition to virtual sessions, WWDC24 includes a special in-person event on June 10 at Apple Park. This experience, though limited in space, offers developers the chance to watch the keynote alongside Apple team members, participate in special activities, and network with their peers. Those interested in attending the physical event can find application details on the Apple Developer site and app.

Apple also continues its investment in the next generation of developers through the Swift Student Challenge. This initiative, part of Apple’s broader efforts to support emerging developers, creators, and entrepreneurs, rewards students for their innovative contributions with the opportunity to attend the special event at Apple Park. Notification to this year’s applicants will be sent on March 28, with fifty Distinguished Winners receiving invites to a three-day experience in Cupertino.

For more information leading up to WWDC24, the Apple Developer app and website will serve as the primary sources for updates and announcements.

Apple’s legacy of innovation stretches back to the introduction of the Macintosh in 1984. Today, it continues to lead the industry with its wide array of devices and software platforms. Through initiatives like WWDC, Apple not only showcases its latest technological advancements but also fosters a vibrant, global community of developers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
